This exercise was a little challenging for me. It was not the easiest experience. I like readers advisory but this wiki book review was a little different in the sense of inserting and typing without changing other peoples reviews by mistake. It can be a little unsettling but I believe I overcame my anxiety.
This exercise was a little diffferent for me. I like readers advisory but putting in a wiki book review was a little challenging. It was a learning experience. It was not my easiest exercise but I hope to remember how to explain this process for future endeavors.

Wiki land can change our view daily. The two that I enjoyed and found colorful and factual was Princton and Bull Run. The others were too wordy for my taste. I prefer wiki's that are more
visual and eye appealing with color blocks and information versus the plain print. The format seems easier on my eyes. The fact that anyone can add informaton to wikis can be a little liberal and interesting at the same time.

Instant messaging will save time and be efficient for customers and staff.
I can see why all the young people are really into this service. IM and ask the library
will be popular with anonymity and time restraints. I was impressed with the ask the library instant messaging.

thing 11

Libraries need to offer IM because it can be beneficial for customers who can not easily commute to the library for different reasons. Young people and the elderly can benefit from this service. It can be quite a convenience for all. IM is a different communication channel because it can be more personal and not face to face. The inhibition factor would not enter into the equation for most people asking the questions.

thing 10

The search tool I found easiest in this exercise was Topix. Syndic8 was a bit confusing for my taste. The preferred method for finding feeds that I liked better was actually looking for specific feeds on web pages. I enjoy clicking on the orange boxes!

thing 9

The thing I like about RSS feeds is how all the feeds can be read so quickly. This should help when we need to assist our customers with their needs in our library. It is very nice not having to go from web page to web page to retrieve news. It is really simple!
